128fps streams are one option (twitch with 128fps seems like a pipe-dream and bandwidth and video processing nightmare). But unfortunately you have to think about the advertising revenue that these events/services need to generate. So in a way, what OP is suggesting is to give the ability to watch 128-tick GOTV (or at least higher than 16-tick), which would exceed the quality of the 60fps twitch streams which sub-sample from 128-tick. Valve even made it so you can get drops if you sign into twitch and watch from there, so for me there is no benefit and only downsides to watching the game in client at the moment. Although sub-sampled to 60 fps most of the time (at best?), which is still better than the 16 tick GOTV. You can watch the game in the spectator in-eye, which is the tick rate of the server (usually 128 tick). TL DR: Set the GOTV that is broadcasted on twitch to be 128 but keep the one that viewers can enter at 16 tick (if lag would be an issue). There is no reason why the stream shouldn't broadcast a GOTV with 128 tick since will probably only be like 3-5 viewers on that stream which would be production crew and casters and this small amount of viewers will not cause any lag whatsoever. So one suggestion for majors is that the GOTV that is active on stream has tv_snapshotrate 128 and the GOTV's that viewers can watch in-game be set to 16.

Compare to this in 1.6 where all good movies were based on in-eye demos with 128 tickrate. Also, movies in csgo are often only based on 16 tick demos.

For instance, flicks are at many times not shown the way they occurred. One reason for this is that it does not reveal exactly what happened. Having a GOTV set to 16 tick lowers the viewing experience by a bit.
